first the dash has to come out 4 times and now this??? I am hoping they will take care of this even after 50k miles. I have an extended lexus warranty to 125k miles. I hope that will cover me. I have complained about ruff idle and idling below 550 rom

A recall would cover everyone affected, regardless of mileage or warranty status.

I know we are talking about engine valve spring. But I just brought my issue with suspension coil spring just to show how Lexus has lost its quality by using inferior parts.

Regarding the valve spring, I hope my 07GS350AWD can dodge a bullet on this recall since it was manufactured in Oct 2006.

We hear a lot of complaints on this forum, but yours is the first I have heard about suspension springs.

I understand that all manufacturing processes have a defect rate, and all QA processes have a tiny percentage they don't pick up. It's unfortunate but I think your case is one of those.

Statistically the Lexus GS is the most reliable car in this segment according to JD Powers - specifically the GS460, but the GS350 is close behind.

You may comment on Lexus using lower quality parts, but having owned 3 BMWs and 2 Mercedes between 1997 and 2009, I can tell you that if you expect to get a lower defect rate on one of these competing brands then you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Except you forget the fact its not all vehicles, it is some of them. They are going back to fix any vehicles that may encounter the issue. They already corrected the issue technically with the newer vehicles.

I have never ever owned a perfect Lexus. They all have issues but compared to what my family has owned they are by far the most reliable.

to be exact, i have never ever owned a perfect "car" at all, though i have to say my lexus (5 of them) have been serving me very well.

it really reminds me of an episode of the tv show House... where he's on a flight and a guy fell sick (non-contagious) but because of how people panic, they started "feeling" every single symptoms.

Comparing other car I have, the Accord 03EXV6, the GS has more problems.
And the GS is the high end luxury car.

I guess all 07GSs are in. And possibly some GS300s too.
