question about 19" wheels
so i have a stock 07 gs350 awd and i have been thinking lately about upgrading to some 19" wheels. when i bought my car at the dealership i grabbed an accessories brochure and i wa looking at the 19" F-sport rims (i have the dark gray car and i like that dark on dark look....) and there is a little disclaimer that states that upgrading to 19" wheels will cause excessive tire wear and i may get less than 15,000 miles on a set of tires. what's up with that? is that true? if so, is that true with all larger wheels? i love my GS and i drive it about 30,000 miles per year and as much as i would love to upgrade i am used to gettign 30-40,000 miles out of my tires. please help!!

has nothing to do with the wheel size. you'll get less mileage out of low profile tires. if you go with an all-season tire, that will help get more miles out of them. you would be going from 50 series tires to 35 series tires...if you stay within spec. You could go 235/40/19 and it would only add about a 1/2" to the total wheel/tire diameter. Still slightly out of spec, but you won't have any rubbing issues. if you get a decent all-season tire, you should be able to get 25-30K miles out of them.

It's all about the tire. Plus on a set of 19's it's not an overly excessive size that will distort your tire wear. If you have a soft compound or ultra low profile they will both factor the amount of wear.
