06 GS300 or 07+ GS350?
I'm in the market for another car and just recently considering the GS line. However I am not sure if I should get a GS300 and save some cash or spend the extra money to get the GS350. There is a local private party sale that has a crystal white 06 GS300 with 49k miles and navi asking for $23,900obo. I asked the person if they would consider $20,000 and he told me to ask again in a month if the car doesn't sell. If I could get it for $20,000, that sounds like a good deal?
2006 GS300 RWD
Crystal White w/Gray
Navigation
49K miles
One owner, service record at dealer and still has a year worth of payments so no title in hand.
Stock chrome factory rims.
I will get a PPI before any car purchase.
Another car I was considering in the Lexus line was the is250/350. On another note, I want white but I am not sure if maybe black is a better color for a sedan.
Thanks

As some previous threads mention, the price difference people are willing to pay vary, but if you can the gs350 for about 3k more, most people say it's worth it for the better engine (more hp at similar gas mileage), next-gen Navi, and better resale value.

I'm in a similar situation. The lease on my 2006 GS300 Onyx Blue ends in August 2010 adn the payoff is only $18,000 but I want a 350 so bad. The ones I've found with similar miles than mine are like $25-$29K, that's a huge difference for me, specialy now that I got burned with my real estate properties in South Florida. I might do the responsible thing and just buy the 06 from the leasing company and rock it till things get better. besides, I got an R1 to get my speed fix

Aweome to know a fellow rider. My 06 has been excelent, no mechanical problems at all throughout the life of the car. It has 55,000 miles, drives smooth, the Tein coilovers are set are super low and still drives smooth without bouncing. I've had my fun with my previous STIs and G35 coupes but I love the comfort, looks, and luxury of the Lexus. I don't really floor it off the line but I do cruise between 90-100mph when on the highway, and downshift if need to pass. Overall a great car. I just wish I would have waited 3 months to get the GS350 for the same price I paid new for the 300. The difference in price between the current 300 vs 350 is too big IMO and it depends on how much extra you're willing to pay. Good luck

The price is right for the 300. Seems like a steal. I wouldn't pay more than $3-$4K more for a 350. If you're going to get a 350, I would get an 08+. The updated styling makes the car look a lot newer.
