Default Automatic Power folding mirrors

I know many here would prefer automatic folding power mirrors.
I love that the mirrors must be folded with the button. The need to fold them isn't always necessary and the look is ugly with them folded in.

I think when people (including me) say they want automatic folding mirrors, they mean that they want an option to have them folded automatically.
At least the button should be easy to access. it's such a pain to open up that control box and look for the button.

just me

i don't want my mirrors folded automatically (agreed, it's ugly and we are in US, no need to fold)

i like the drop down box (I don't like clutters and don't want all buttons exposed)

The drop down box is a cool idea, but functional...not when you bang your knee into it for the first time.

Since I folded my mirror once since I had my car, 6 months, the fold down box is a great idea. It was also a great idea for Lexus to move the gas door and trunk door open button outside of the fold down box for the 2008 GS, I do use those button quite a bit. Maybe the people who complains about the box or banging their knees have a 07 or a 06.

I keep it closed but I did bang it once when I was at a gas station. It was probably a couple of weeks after I got the car and forgot to open it before I go out the car, so I came back to the driver seat, open the drop down box, press the gas door button, filled up, and banged my knee while getting in the car since I forgot to close the drop down box.

lesson learned, and haven't since.

right you are. i've learned that it hurts a lot less to get out of the car (06) at the gas station if you remember to close the the little door.

Yeah, not too many GS owners park on a narrow street on a daily basis.

I do. At work. We park in a tandem stalls so theres always a closs car. I really wish they gave an option to operate the mirror when turning off and on the car. it takes less than 2-3 seconds to open at most, heck the reverse camera takes longer to start so it should be fine to assign to.
