The Choice -- GS 350 vs. BMW 335xi coupe
Here you go -- 3 person family, including 14 year old son (5 foot 7 inches) and 6 foot 2 inch father -- wife drives BMW X3 and husband has been driving Saab 9-3 turbo -- should he lease 335xi coupe or Lexus GS 350 AWD? Acknowledge they are completely different cars -- in sum, BMW offers more fun but far less size and far less luxury. Car will be driven exclusively by father and back seat will only be utilized on weekends.
Like both cars. Appreciate your thoughts.

I had the exact same dilemma and went with the GS because of the space and luxury. Power and fun aren't there like 335 but I live in downtown chicago and cannot really take advantage. The other perk not to forget about w/ the 335 is free maintenance. Good luck in your decision!

GSG350 vs the 335 coupe?..... wow two totally different cars. Pick the one you think you'll have use more. Dont get a car based on what "we" think.
If you were debating the 335xi sedan that would be a little more comparable even tho it still lacks the room the gs350 offers. The 335xi sedan isnt a bad choice at all. You cant go wrong with the gs350 either but if you dont need the room, go with the coupe.

If you're going to be driving it primarily and want something sportier I'd go for the coupe. You'd definitely be trading reliability for the fun factor. The only thing is the BMW is so 'tired'.
Think about the Audi S5/A5
This thing stops traffic and looks even better in real life.

Lease on the Audi A5 is ridiculous -- in the 7's or 8's for a $40K sticker. Have to wait a few years and it will come down to a realistic number for the lease.

i asked the same thing also when i was deciding on a car. i went and got the GS because am still young and insurances gunna bite me in the behind. Also there are alot fewer GS's on the road compare to 3 series. Even at that i would only give props to people with 335 coupes not 328 coupes or 335 sedans. Well i got the GS because its more luxurious :P

If you're leasing, reliability probably won't be much of an issue in 2-3 years. Drive them both. The fit and finish and interior of the GS is definitely better then that of the BMW. However you can't beat the handling and road feel of the Bimmer.

I was in the exact same position. 335xi with 6MT was a much more fun car to drive but in the end, I went with the GS350 AWD. You get more car for the same price as the 335xi. (335xi coupe with iDrive --which really is horrible, comfort access, Logic7 stereo, sport package, and park assist (no backup camera) would have been $6,000 more than the GS350AWD with comparable features minus the sport package.)
I am very happy with my choice, although if I really had my way, I would have both!

Same situation here just about a week and a half ago when I finally decided on going with the GS350. But like what a few people on here said tho about leasing vs. buying. If I were going to lease it, I would have probably gone with the 335 coupe since I wouldn't have to worry about maintenance and reliability down the road. However, I purchased my car and plan to keep it for a while so reliability played a huge part in my decision making process.
Also, the GS350 is just sooooo much more luxurious then the 335 coupe. But with luxury, you loose some of the "fun" factor as well that the BMW possesses. Either way, you will get a great vehicle no matter what you choose.
