That's about what I ended up paying: $500 for the receiver, the rest was for "labor" which supposedly takes 3 1/2 to 4 hours. It appears to be cheaper if you insist on having XM installed before agreeing to buy the car - then that labor cost seems to suddenly vanish.

Does anyone know if a GS300 is already prewired as well????Non Nav model If not can it be installed directly to the screen or do you have to purchase a seperate receiver??? Thanks for your help..

$1,200?!? I think your dealer is trying to make money back they lost with a great deal you got on your car '07 GS350 comes with a sharkfin antenna which supposed to host XM antenna already. All they need to do is to get XM receiver unit (cost $50-$70) and a control unit which integrates with your touch-screen ($220-$250). On average you are looking at approximately $300 in parts and about 1-2 hours of labor to install it. I did the wire-cutting hack (speed sensor disabling from DIY thread), and it takes no longer than 15 min to take the whole audio unit out. $500 for parts and labor is what it should cost, since dealer will do it and guarantees the work without voiding the warranty. I'm getting my Sirius installed next week, got quoted $425 for everything ($300 in parts, $125 for 1 hour of labor). If your dealer is not willing to do it for $500, go to any audio installation shop.
