it's been covered a few times before but it's been a while. the car has plenty of headroom for me and i am 6 foot. the key is that the seat is adjustable downward. i have about four to five inches of headroom. for those that leave the seat up high or prefer the seat up high the headroom may be an issue. again though, i have plenty of room and i am usually the first to complain when it's too tight in a car.
I'm 6'3 and I was having issues with my head hitting the roof, but like said above if you put the seat all the way down you should be ok. The only time I get close anymore is when I turn around to back up, sometimes I touch the top. You get used to tilting your head slightly...
It took me a few months to get comfortable in the car - initially a had the seat too far back to allow myself more headroom. I currently have it set with a little over an inch of headroom, say about two finger widths - with the seat on the bottom. Now i'm very comfortable. If i'm wearing a baseball cap and lean forward, sometimes it gets knocked off ...I think it's a small price to pay to have a car with such a lovely shape.
I like your precautions - check things out before being seduced by the car in the showroom - I could have saved msyelf a fortune if I never visited showrooms...
