" Water-repellent front-door glass"
Aren't all glass water repellent? LOL, i remember reading this on the brochure and online at the lexus site and thought it was odd to highlight this "feature".
Did Lexus do something special to the front glass that makes it more water repellent than other glass?

The glass has a special coating that makes water run off the glass more easily. Sort of the same thing as if you applied Rain-X to your windows, except it's permenent.

The water repellent front glass feature was on the 01 GS430. When you wash your car, you can see the difference in how water reacts between the front side glass that has repellent and the rear side glass that does not. Too bad Lexus did not do this on all windows for the 01...Does the new 06 have it on all windows?

I agree it would only improve visibilty if all the windows had this.

All newer Lexuses have this on the front side windows--LS has it on the windshield, too. It's convenient but not nearly as effective as Rain-X. The downside of Rain-X is that it may leave smears on the glass if you don't wipe it really clean.
