Accelerator pedal
Recently I test drived 2006 GS300. It seems that on my 2nd Gen GS the accelerator pedal is much softer then on 2006 GS and I like it that way.
Any other opinions?

Drive by wire
For some reason Lexus has chosen to make their drive-by-wire gas pedal a bit heavy. My LS430 was the first Lexus with this technology and it took a bit of getting used to. I think it's so that you get that "Lexus" smooth feeling while accelerating.

but on my sc430, the gas pedal feels a lot heavier. that's just the drive by wire system. takes time to get used to, and in general, in the beginning, you have to apply more pressure to get it started
i also feel that as soon as i let my foot off the gas, the sc430 goes "blah"..... kinda funny at times

You need almost floor the pedal to start moving.

but inherently that seems to be how drive by wire works. not sure if that's true though

I've been driving with the power button off and it has been getting excellent MPG, 25.

Drive by wire much improved over 2nd Gen.
and a lot of it has to do with the transmission. Whenever you drive a new design it takes some time for the body to adjust to the new placement and pedal feel. This transmission is nothing like the ES330's which is still a work in progress IMO. The GS300'430's is silky smooth and the sequential slot fun to use when cornering. Do about twenty five calf raises a day on some stairs and that should fix it.
