2004 vs 2006. A side by side pic - you vote.
OK guys, you've seen my last thread. I'm now a bonafide fan of the new 2006 GS. And that says a lot since I LOVE my Spectra Blue 1999 GS400. But I put the two pics together and it clarified it even more. The 2006 is simply more aggressive. And you KNOW that once we start mod-ing this puppy its going to blow away our beloved 2nd gen. But hey you take a look and vote yourself. Tell us what you think.

Wow, this side by side really helps you draw the similarities between the 2 car's shapes. You can definitely see the lineage.
I don't like commenting on cars right after seeing them for the first time. I need the design to sink in and find it's place amongst all the other cars I like/dislike. Otherwise it's emotion, not firm opinion. I think it's been a good amount of time since I first saw the 3rd GS.
Keeping in mind these are merely pictures, I like the new GS design over the old. It has a more aggressive stance, a meaner front end, and the harder lines add to the aggressiveness. Side by side it's clear which is old and which is new. The 2nd generation style is undoubtedly a classic, it's a beautiful car. However, there is a steady progression in car designs. Our 2nd generations look brilliant beside the previous E-Class and 5-series. But models have changed. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would rather pull up to a 2004 E-class or 5-series in this 3rd generation then the 2nd. Of course, I don't have the mods many of you do, so it's a different story for me. I'm talking stock to stock here. I like where Lexus has headed with the ES, LS and RX, and the same goes with this GS.

Will definitely be getting a new 06 GS. AWD, probably not though. I'd really prefer the V8 even if it still only has 300hp.

I am anxious to actually see the GS before I make a final decision as having AWD would be beneficial. I've been tempted to move up the ladder into an LS these days but will most likely wait until I see the GS in person.

I do like the new GS better than the 2nd generation, but don't forget the 1st generation GS. I think the 1st generation is just as good looking as the rest of the GSes.
