Default alarm problems after switching starter

So I have a 99 gs400 and I just put in a new starter and an intake manifold gasket, all of a sudden my alarm goes off (it's an aftermarket viper alarm I think it's an old version) I tried turning it off with my remote and it didn't work, it wouldn't turn off until I put the key in the door and manually unlocked it.. It keeps doing that every 2-5 mins... I had to disconnect my battery...

Maybe I would check to see if your aftermarket alarm has a switch for when the hood is closed (usually would be mounted along the fenders or by the headlights) and check the connection on it. Either that or usually aftermarket alarms would have a hard wired reset/disable push button inside the vehicle. Did you have the alarm installed or was it on the vehicle when you bought it?
