Just wondering if this Inner Tie Rod needs to be greased or have anything periodically done to it? I have OEM tie rods that are shot after only 30k and 2 years so I figured these could be better if not the same quality. Do these need any maitenance that the OEM ones dont? what about the outer tie rods Moog ES80585? Do those need to be greased? Just want to know how these compare to OEM and if I need to do anything extra that I currently am not used to with OEM.

I have all Moog steering and suspension (other than the airbags) up front and I'm pretty certain they come pregreased. I do know however that the ball joints need to be pregreased, but the grease comes with the kit to do so and you can see the obvious hole with a plug where they need to be greased.

Yeah there is a huge chunk of grease on them but I was wondering if it needs to be regreased any point and is there any difference between the original ones like are they sealed and these are not or something?

I would rather pay more and not have to worry about greasing anything. Good to know for the future I will stick with oem ball joints if they are more maintenance free (correct me if I'm wrong)

I did a comparison with all the parts with pics compared to stock and they are much better quality than oem (if you wanna look it up, just search "moog" and posts by Mr Jokster will pop it up). As for maintenance, no extra at all. Theres no reason to re grease them either because the inner rod has a boot and the outer rod has its own boot as well to keep the grease in and any particles out.

Thanks bro you the man. I just changed them about to get an alignment now can't wait for that new car feeling after the fresh alignment and tie rods!

Yea I was shocked at the difference a simple tie rod change could make! However, mine had over 200k on them and I could swing them around by the joint like a ratchet wrench, so doesnt mean you'll get the same results Should be a difference nonetheless.

If they have a zerk fitting, they need to be greased, no fitting or holes, then they are a sealed grease component. Just watch the boot and make sure it doesn't rip because if it does, the grease leaks out and causes damage to the joint.

Yea the left one was shot when I went to get an alignment so they couldn't align it so I just changed them all while I was in there since they're pretty cheap anyway

How do you know if it's zerk or not. All I know is they say problem solver and the inners are made in Japan 555 and came with a lot of grease or some Vaseline looking substance on one of the sides of it. The outers are still the problem solvers just made in America and I didn't see any "Vaseline" on them
