Moving on from my GS300
Sadly I am moving on from my 2002 GS300. Car only has 104k for miles and is in great condition. However with my wife getting a family SUV it will be smarter for me to take her 2008 Nissan Altima SE V6. Not a Lexus, but it is a fast, fun car to drive. Only has 60k for miles and does have an extended warranty which is the main reason I'm taking it.
Plan to trade the GS300 in. However if anyone is in the midwest and has interest in buying my GS300 around June 1st, I'm open to selling it privately.

I looked into all of those models you mentioned which I narrowed it down to the Pathfinder and the Dodge Durango. The Durango is an absolute stunning vehicle, from it’s design to the handling and features. The Pathfinder design is not that eye catching as the Dodge, but it is very close, almost neck-and-neck. After endless nights of tossing and turning I went with a 2015 Pathfinder for its reliability which won me over.
Side note: If you decide to go w/ the Pathfinder do not go for anything less than the 2015 model as you might find yourself with a faulty CVT transmission.

Sweet - I recently concluded my SUV shopping. I wanted something with a third row.

You mentioned an Enclave, my mom owns a GMC Acadia (same car, different badge). Granted it is a 2007 but wow it has been nothing but problems. Not to mention its value is next to nothing now.
Maybe the newer ones are of higher quality, I can't say. Just thought I would warn you.

My nieghbor had an Acadia, and it went through transmissions more than anything I've ever seen. It was a 2011. That being said, the Durango is a great car. My friends parent's were trying to a dealer with a Citadel which was nearly impossibly, but they ended up with a Crew with all the options and they love it.

I'm so glad you mentioned owning a Pathfinder. I've been reading alot about their transmission issues and I've been trying to figure out if they actually fixed the issue in the 2015 model. Did you confirm this with a particular source or information prior to buying your Pathfinder?

I own a '14 Pathfinder, love the SUV, but for the life of me can't understand why Nissan would cripple such a great engine with a dog of a transmission. The CVT shudders and worse yet - bogs down at times when you need to accelerate (such as pulling out of a parking lot into traffic).
Other than MAYBE some improved MPG, a CVT is a failed technological experiment. Maybe something for future use, but the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" saying comes to mind...stick with a normal transmission.
I would not let that steer me away from the Pathfinder, as it does a lot of other things well, but it could have been a great car without that CVT.

Thanks for the Pathfinder info. We have a Nissan Altima SE V6 and its CVT transmission does nothing to hold back the performance of the car. Hoping the Pathfinder transmission issues are fixed for 2015.

I much prefer a traditional auto transmission (or better yet - a manual!).
