2001 GS300 Charge Accessory light on but no charge problem
Hey guys,
Messed up while doing the timing belt and pulled the wires out of the alternator plug..dang!
Rewired (soldered) new one in but the dang light won't go out. Pulled the ground from bat to reset ECU, no joy.??
Charge is good 14.2v...
Would a kick panel fuse cause the light to stay on?
Help o'masters of the diagrams..
Thanks ahead.
BJ

Maybe the voltage regulator? With a voltage meter on the battery and your car on, turn your headlights on and a/c fan and see if the voltage fluctuates up to maybe 15v down to 13v. If it doesn't, then that means the regulator may need replacement. The other thing, could be as simple as a slipping belt not allowing the alternator to charge properly. Since you recently worked on it, that could be the culprit as well. But at 14.2v, I think its charging just fine. Doesnt hurt to check your grounds too.
