Hey guys,

I just bought a 2000 Lexus GS300 not too long ago. Obviously this winter is not being kind to those of us in the North, but it seems like my seat heaters are really weak. Is there a DIY out there to upgrade/replace the seat heaters with those from a different Lexus/car or somehow pump up the current output for the heaters we have?

How's the condition of the leather? Because if it's not soft and plush, over time dirt gets trapped in the pores and the leather can get dryer and harder, I used Leatherique on my seats and I noticed the seat heaters even more afterwards, pretty much made my seats look like new as well as making them super soft and matte finished

I just purchased a new 2015 350RX and the heated seats are so weak - almost undetectable. At first the dealer said they were working, but then tested the temp and on highest level (3) the seats only reach temps in the 80's range. The outdoor air temperature is in the 70s here, so all the surfaces in the car are in the 80's range. Online sources say heated seats should reach 110 degrees or so.

Did anyone get this solved?

I loved my VW heated seats so much! This is my first Lexus and I like a lot of the features, but I've got to get this heated seat issue fixed asap.

Thats a brand new car, you need to keep slamming the dealer with the issue until they fix it.

Yup the seat heaters are not going to give you much comfort in 70 degree weather. When it is really cold like near freezing or anything less, the warmth they give off seems much more effective. Otherwise you dont notcie them much when the weather warms up. I have had several Toyota/Lexus cars and seat heaters have always seemed weaker than other car brands. I've basically accepted that this is a Toyota thing.

mornings were colder and rainy, so I tried the heated seats and couldn't even tell they were on at the highest level! When I was at the dealer they tested them on a sunny afternoon and didn't get hotter than 80's - when outside temp was in 70s. Seems a real defect in the car if this is typical. Other owners are telling me it's so hot they feel like they're getting burned at high temps.

maybe the heated seats aren't consistent. I've gotta see some improvement here - otherwise what's the point of paying for the upgrades associated with this.

They get really hot in mine, just as warm as my Acura had if not more so, maybe there's a possibility the wiring has something wrong or maybe the last owner could have swapped front seats with a GS that didn't have heated seats.

Mine still work great in a 2000 GS400 so I can say they should be pretty strong when they work
