No sound from drivers side speaker
Hi guys,
I'm not getting any sound out of my drivers side speaker (both speaker and tweeter out). Now I've tried another Panasonic unit from my spare GS but that was dead too. As I have a double din installed I tried the wiring out and it's dead, the connections are still there, no broken wires and they're all going to the right place but I'm getting no sound.
How does the speaker wiring work in the car, does it run from speaker straight to the amp or headunit?
I removed my old grey door cards for black ones which meant I lost the programmable seats, would this affect the speaker unit?
I've ditched the factory amp and removed it from the car. I use a harness to run the speaker wires and power to the HU which is working fine with every other speaker.
I'm a bit lost as to what I can check. And ideas welcome.
Thanks.
I also did a search but couldn't find any answers that related to what I've got going on.

Is there a chance I have a poor connection in the door or on the terminal that connects the wires to the speaker?
I have read some issues that related to the MK1 GS about the wires rubbing in the door hinge and shorting them out. Sound familiar?

Yeah I think that's going to be my only option. Am I right in thinking that as the tweeter is wired directly into the speaker itself I won't have to touch it?

Yeah sorry for not being clear, I have an aftermarket HU which uses a conversion harness, directly into the harness that runs straight to the vehicles speakers. I have removed the factory amp and sub.

Problem sorted. The harness I had before was for a non nav GS, most of the wires were compatible with the exception of the front right door speaker (possibly wired differently for the voice on maps), I was getting power to the wires after the conversion harness but those wires weren't leading anywhere near the front speakers.
I took a picture of the front door speaker wires and traced them back into the car. I located an area where I could rewire the door wires directly into the HU loom. Works a treat
