Yeah, probably time to put this thread to bed. Thanks for your input :-)

If I had it to do all over again (knowing what I know now) Id've gone with a GS300 only because it's relatively easier to hop up to +400hp. But that said, how often would I be able to take advantage of +400hp? Not often. My '98 GS400 still has enough grunt to push me into the seat when needed and can run with most when it has too.

- Did I just contradict myself?

Haha. Well you sort of contradicted yourself...but I think your point was that the stock GS430 has enough power for all situations plus that extra "fun". Makes perfect sense to me :-)

Not sure if you use your GS for motorsports at all, but the steering wheel mounted buttons are the sole reason I went with a 400 over the 430. I know you can probably do the same with the shift lever, but it is REALLY convenient to have those buttons for downshifting into corners and holding a gear. I drive it in manual mode all the time and it makes you feel more involved in the driving experience. I really would like the newer car and increased displacement, and would love to have a rare 05 model, but I don't think it would be better for me in terms of actually driving it.
