Brake light lights up when braking
What's up guys. So lately I've been noticing in the early morning on my drive for work that when I would brake the parking brake would light up until the car comes to a full stop. Then it would keep lighting up whenever I brake. After 10 mins or so it would completely stop. Any ideas on this? 98 GS4 btw

Looks like it was my brake fluid. Looks really low. I'm gonna fill it up after work. Because its so low would I need to bleed my brakes before applying the new fluid?

As your pads get thinner due to wear, the pistons in your calipers require more fluid since they are extended farther to accommodate for the thinner pads. Its a good indication that your pads are getting near the end of their life....or....you just have a leak which should by all means illuminate the ABS light in the dash as well.
Should not need to bleed them. Id check the pads first. If they are thin, replace them. This would return the fluid level to a acceptable level when you SLOWLY compress the pistons to make room for the thicker pads.

It looks like I do have a leak. Something is eating up my brake fluid and I noticed that under my car has spills when I move. I'm ruling out my brakes as I changed the fronts not too long ago but left the rears as they still had a lot of life left to them. But I'll double check. I'm just wondering why my abs light didnt come on whem I do have a leak
