Looking at new tires, what is everyone running?

I have the Kumho Ecsta 4X from TireRack
Good tire, but mine have worn a little fast due to a bad tire rod that it took me a while to fix. But still I have got ~28k on them so far. Great dry, good wet, a little loose in deep puddles at speed. Decent in the snow. Good overall tire, especially for the price.
Given a choice I will get some ContiPro Extreme Contact next time, but that is around another $40 a tire....
Search for tires, read every review you can. I avoid Dunlop, they used to be great tires, but reviews today they are often the worst of the bunch. I have never had problems with catastophic blown tires except for Goodyear. I avoid Goodyear. Too expensive for the mushy soft sidewall. I like stuff firm sidewalls. Not mushy soft ones. I look for a tire that can clear water, has grooves that allow water to escape, to have sipes that allow the water to escape out the sides, something to bite on snow. And good treadwear.

I'm looking for tires to replace the Michelin Pilot Exalto 225/55/r16 currently on my 2002 GS300 Sport Design. I can't afford the Michelins right now. Noise and ride comfort close to the Michelin is important to me.
I drive mainly in town, not a lot of highway. I'm a bit heavy on the pedal but not over 80 on the hwy... around 45 all the time in town. I tend to cut it wide when I turn and I use the car's handling when I'm in a curve.
Any suggestions for a low noise, good quality tire?

I have Continental Pure Contact 245 45 17's on mine now, very nice quiet and great grip in rain, straight line and cornering wet or dry.
Got mine at Tire Rack for $130ish.
They grip better than the Kuhmo's I had last year.

I go through tires too fast because of camber wear to buy new ones. I have a local used tire guy that stocks used 235 35 19 pilot sports for me. He sells them to me for $50 bucks mounted, balanced, and installed. I have yet to receive one with less than 8/32 and for those that don't know 10/32 is a brand new tire. I have never had one fail. (Knock on wood) but I'm very pleased as far as road noise is concerned. As far as ride quality goes it's not horrible but I am pretty much on rubber bands.
