How are you guys putting your Ebay purchased TTE replica lips on?

I bought one out of curiosity to see if saving money on a replica was worth it. clearly i was wrong, but it is what it is and now I'm stuck with either working with it or selling it. it fits like garbage of course. anyone have any ideas on getting it to fit nicely? aside from putting screws in every 6 inches I'm not really sure.

Car is going to be painted in the next few months anyway but from what i read about, molding it isn't the best way to go seeing as how i will be riding lower than usual and will probably crack the paint and what not. any insight will help. flaming to a minimum please just trying to make the best of a commonly crappy situation! thanks!

I know as well that i can take it to a body shop and have them do it. but price wise I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper to just do a legit TTE lip and be done with it. I want to try to find out some type of method where i can do it myself.

yeah i have learned that "rep" anything means, fitment and quality is a mess. you get what you pay for in its truest form. i love a "molded" one much better, but, my lip scrapes at the slowest angle leaving my driveway EVERYday, and i know that would lead to stress cracks in paint and bondo in no time.

A heat gun is your friend here. Work slowly and be carful not to heat it too much. Just enough where you can reshape it. Worked for me and fits really well.

I was actually thinking that this would be the best option without having to take it to a body shop, where like others i would probably crack the paint and what not. maybe seal the edge with something that will give it flex, but not crack. my car will be going to paint soon as well so im looking for the best option. thanks for the advice!

yea true. i figured id give it a try, worse case i learn how to do it myself haha.

yep use heat gun.. get it hot enough to reshape but not burn.. start from middle and go out

Didnt even think about starting in the middle. makes sense now. thank you sir! Going to try to get this taken care of next weekend.
