my 02 GGP SportDesign totalled, a sad story.
So back in 02 I obsessed for months before buying a GS300, decision made in part thanks to Club Lexus. I wound up with a Graphite Gray Pearl Sport Design with black interior. LOVED that black wood trim and gray piping. Every time I got in that car I smiled.
It was so close to perfect for me, I kept it stock for ten years, the only mod being custom black leather sun visor covers. Hid that ugly sticker, helped reduce glare, and matched perfectly. Two years ago I put in a new headunit, Pioneer with BT and also added an additional amp. Sounded sweet. Then, just TWO WEEKS ago I finally lowered it with Tanabe springs, and put in new KYB shocks. It felt better than new. I was planning a wheel and tire package this fall, as well as new paint.
Last week, I took my two kids to the library. Coming home, a guy crossed the yellow line and aimed right for me. Never turned, kept coming. He was aiming head on, and I had just enough time to cut the wheel a bit and avoid a full frontal. He hit my door and then just smashed the rear drivers door where my six year old son was sitting. Spun us completely around, knocked the back wheel 20 feet away. Probably broke the rear axle. Scary, loud and quick.
Luckily no one was hurt at all, both kids buckled in proper booster seats. I just loved that car, but I love my kids more.
Have not gotten a figure from the insurance company yet, but it's almost certainly totalled. Sad, the interior looked brand new and it still drove great. My plan was drive it six more years, and then give it to my ten year old daughter for her first car. Not sure what to replace it with, leading candidate is a 2nd gen GS430. I don't like the 3rd gen, and don't want to spend for the 4th gen.
So if anyone wants some GGP sport design parts, Commerce Insurance will probably be selling it at a crash auction, or whatever they do with totalled cars.

Sorry to hear that
Thankfully you and everyone else turned out okay!
It's depressing though that even though you can be compensated with money, it won't be able to get your GS back, and others probably won't be as clean and won't be just the way you had yours.
I just got my GS300 a few months ago, and I'm only 20. Hoping to keep it for a while, and would be very upset is something were to happen to it.
Good luck, let us know what you end up getting!

Damn.....sorry to hear about the car, but thankfully you and your kids are okay.
10+ years is a long time to own a car -- good luck with your next purchase. Having owned an '03 GS430 for the last 3+ years, I strongly recommend buying one!
