Fuel gauge not working anymore.
My 98 GS3's fuel gauge is reading totally empty. I have a full tank of gas I am getting gas from the main
Fuel pump in the tank. I pulled out the sub sending unit from the passenger side and hooked it up
To a multimeter. The ohms changed as the float moved up and Down so I believe the unit is fine.
But when I checked the plug in the wiring harness with both leads I got no voltage. When I touched
The ground lead to a screw on the tank I got 6 volts on the yellow wire in the harness plug that goes
To the sub sending unit. Is this a ground problem in the harness? My low fuel light is also on.
I did not check the float on the main pump because I have a full tank. I checked the 4 leads to the main unit and got 10-11 vdc.
Any help would be great. I can't keep resetting my odometer to know when to fill my tank.
