Default 1999 GS4 with Nakamichi - intermittent popping/static noise from speakers

My speakers have started making random popping/static noises, it only lasts a few seconds. Sometimes it will do it a couple times "pop-pop-pop". It does it on CD and FM, I have not tried cassette or AM. Has anybody had this happen to them? The audio system is completely stock.

I've had two issue with my naka so far and they have both been fixed:

First issue:

I would listen to my music loud then it was crackle and I'd loose sound for a few seconds, I'd have to turn the volume down and just wait. I replaced the amp and that fix that.

Second issue:

The balance on the head unit wasnt working properly. When I turned the **** it would create static and cause certain speakers not to play. I took out the deck to find that the ribbon cable from the headunit to the circuit board was twisted causing it to malfunction. This fixed that problem.

I found a guy selling his LX470 naka amp, and it was a plug and play. Good luck.

I replaced the amp with a used one off ebay for around $115. It appears the problem is solved. Thanks for the help! The amp part number is 86280-30380.

Does anyone know if the amp. Is part of the speaker as a unit or is something else?

On the GS300 Nakamichi the amp is in the trunk beneath the trunk lining.
