interior swap
I have two second gen GS's on hand. Want to swap the interiors on both. I know the doors, carpets, seats are easy. However, what about the headliner, pillars dash, etc. ? Anybody done this?

Thanks
Thanks, so I guess I can do it on my own, but maybe I could take it somewhere to have the dash pulled and changed? Or can it be dyed?

swap
I wasn't expecting him to do that, lol. Just wondered if he had any pointers on how to get it out. I don't think he's on here anymore. His mailbox is completely full

the dash swap isnt that bad at all, its just intimidating to attack for the first time. If you have the luxery of having the new dash sitting in front of you, you can see where the bolts are that hold it on. There isnt that many, after that its just unplugging the wiring harness.......fairly easy, just take your time.

your a old member, you should know to search man, keyword "dash swap" pulls up a handful of threads as does "interior swap"
when i did my interior swap about a month ago this is the DIY i followed
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...iy-w-pics.html
i recommend having a extra "hand" around if you can get a friend to help, everything else is fairly straight forward just take your time. the only thing i didnt do from that DIY was i didnt drop the steering assembly i took the dash over it..... good luck its not to bad i think my total interior swap took me about 9 hours of us working slow and about 1.5 of that was removing the gs300 wiring harness from the old dash and putting my factory one back in there (only did this as my OEM GS430 harness had 2 plugs the GS300 dash i got didnt and i didnt wanna have to figure out what they were.... and no they were for the NAV these were in different places. i found one to be for the center ML speaker and no clue what the other one is for)
also a little helpful tip, before fully nolting everything back up for the dash test ALL modes/features so you know everything is working before you put everything back together and have to undo it to retrace something

Vin plates aren't swapped. They're riveted into the firewall.. Brad it's not that bad. Like Brian said the most time consuming part was the dash. I had to drop my steering column, but it's only 4 nuts for that. The wiring harness takes the most time, transplanting it from one to the other dash.
Once you loosen all the nuts & bolts holding it in and you try and begin pulling it, you'll figure out real quick where the harness is still plugged in. Most connections are down at the kick panels.
Just go slow and be gentle. Don't force anything. I was told the clips on the dash were easy to break. I managed not to break any my first time.
It'll be worth the effort!!! Jus DO eet!!

Well there wont be any progress pictures because I didn't end up having to do it. Got into a fender bender a month ago, so now its the perfect opportunity to paint the car blue. Taking it in tomorrow, should be done in about 3 weeks
