Exclamation How much is a 2002 GS300 SportDesign Worth?

Friends,

I have an all-black 2002 GS300 SportDesign with 200,000 miles. This is the limited edition SportDesign which has the sport suspension from the GS 430, paddle shifters on the steering wheel, wider wheels, and polished alloy wheels, plus interior added perforated leather upholstery along with brushed aluminum.

I am considering either trading the car in or selling it privately. The car has a clean title, drives quite well, but the Check Engine light does occasionally turn on. The engine was replaced at 150,000 miles (fully documented, along with the pump and all belts), swapped for an identical engine which had 60,000 miles at the time.

I figure the swapped engine won't add much if any value to the car, but will surely prolong the life of the car by a substantial amount of time.

As a GS community, I would like to hear what you guys think this GS is worth. Any responses are much appreciated!

Well honestly, it doesn't matter what we think it's worth, cuz we will value it more highly, so you would need to see what others are actually selling for, specifically in your area, because that will differ throughout the country. I my opinion, our cars are worth much more than what they are selling for, but the market and economy is bad, and this is reflected by the current crappy market value of our cars unfortunately.

Price of something is only as much as someone wants it and how badly someone needs to get rid of it.

Its worth a little more then a regular GS to a GS enthusiast / fan. To the general public it will just seen like another 10yo used car with high millage. Price it to sale and/or negotiate or price it at your perceived value and wait for the right buyer.

Also because of the price drops a think a lot of people will opt for a 400/430, this hurts the demand and therefore the value.

I just bought a 2002 GS300 Sport Design with 151k last Monday at a CarMax auction for $5,255. It's a one-owner car that was serviced regularly at the local Lexus dealership. In my opinion, the car is worth at least twice what I paid for it. It's in amazing condition and it drives better than any car I have owned to date. Mind you, I just lost my 1997 Mustang Cobra Convertible in an not-at-fault accident. That car had 175k miles on it, but was in very good shape. Good luck.
