doing some work.

Intake mani off. Took it off in one whole piece and left the throttle body there since i didnt wanna deal with that small hose... lol it was easier for me doing so.. It took me about maybe 1.5 hours to take it off. the whole piece was held by 12mm bolts (some have torx in the middle but you can use a 12mm).

Hello knock sensor. i </3 you.,

i should seafoam my car...

so besides finding rat poop in this area... i found this :|... some bugger was HUNGRY?!?.. im debating if i should solder new wires in place of the chewed up areas... ideas? also one harness clip is kinda broken :|..

im going to call Lexus of Westminster to see if they have this in stock...

Screw the soldering. I'd go for a new one as a precaution. Don't think you want to take it apart again, do you? I think they're shielded wires too, no?

I don't know much about your supercharge set up but i do know that when you replace those knock sensors, your supposed to replace the harness as well. I don't think it's a good idea to solder those wires. BTW I rec. you use oem parts imo

The wire is part of the harness, so yeah the dealer was quoting you the entire harness for the engine.

The shielding mentioned is further up the wire in the loom, it is shielded for most of the run but is regular wire near the ecu and at the sensors. If the wire wasn't deteriorating and was just broken solder and heatshrinking it should be fine. They get so hot in the area the wire gets brittle and break.

If you need a new connector, toyota can get you the new clip connector for the end if you have the right part number ready for them.

Toyota part number is: 90980-11166

And is like $5 here: http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/90980-11166.html

haha.. everythings for sale I'm not really attached to it. It's pretty much done just needs a final full tune, but the new clutch/flywheel/pp combo isn't completely broken in yet it needs to see some more miles before I pound it on the dyno..
