Gunna rent a Gs400 this weekend..
I think my friend and I are going to rent a GS400 from a luxury car rental place for a day and have fun with it. heh.
I'm actually thinking about doing the CPO thing from Lexus for a 98 GS400 so I don't have to worry about maintenance for a while you know?
Anyone ever do a certified pre-ownder here? What kinda of payments and down did you put?
thx

How much are you paying for the day? Does the GS4 have NAV and all the goodies?
So you want to trade in the LS or just sell it by itself? You should be able to get one in the really really low 30s, maybe even really really high 20s.

Not sure, I'm going to rent one from a budget rent a car of beverly hills. They might even have a GS430 ;-) Haven't called in yet to check.
A friend of a friend has a NSX that he's pretty open with letting people borrow. We're gunna see if we can get both and cruise around. ;-) ;-) The guy with the NSX used to have the stage 2 turbo kit, but took it off becuase he said he was eating up tires all the time.

Jefe - No, the guy I mentioned with the NSX did have a turbo kit, actually it was a stage 3 with intercooler and all. I see him on a semi daily basis. He's actually a molecular biologist. Smart guy ;-)
Oh and by the way - The rent never happened, wayyy too expensive. $$ They wanted $220+ day with 50 free miles.

I don't care if this guy worked for NASA, he never had any turbo kit if he doesn't now. It would cost almost as much to revert to stock as to do the initial install. Both much more expensive than a few sets of tires

Enjoy the rental! My GS is a CPO as well. Got a great deal on it too....it was two years old and only had 15,000 km on it. If you're interested in getting a GS, then shop around cuz there are a few slightly used gems that you can get great deals on.

Well I don't want this to become an argument of my credibility, but I'll try and get some pics.
As far as his money, I can say his salary starts at $400,000+ /yr. He manages a research lab with a staff of 60+ people.
I also know his cousin and my friend who introduced me to him, who let my friend borrow his car for prom. And I CAN get pics of that!

Get the CPO. It's a great way to get into a GS if you don't have or don't want to part with the cake for a new one. I only buy CPO's as I drive 25K+ miles /year and they have a 100K warranty. The depreciation hit from new is something I can't stand. But that's just me. However, there's no other feeling like driving off the lot in a brand new vehicle.
Your choice. Good luck.
