Check Engine light
Hey Guys,
After driving in to work today. I went back to my car an hour later and the check engine light came on. I know i need to plug a CPU in to it to get the code. My GS300 has about 136000 miles on it, do you guys know of any common codes comming up?
After i get the CPU plugged in I'll let you guys know what code comes up.

EVAP Emission Control System Vent Control Malfunction
I checked all the hoses and they seem to be fine. I took out the gas cap, cleaned it then put it back on and cleared the code. Now i have to see if it comes back. hope it doesn't but if it does i might have to take it in and get the canister replaced.

Best and only way to check the whole system (and should be the first thing) is run a fogger through the system. That will allow you to see where the leak is coming from. Better than going through the 3 hours of removing the canister and the many more hours searching by eye for invisible leaks. Any mechanic should have a fogger machine to run it for you.
to save you $500+ on a charcoal canister, try to remove the solenoid and clean it off. MOST of the time thats the problem (if concluded that thats the problem).

Check that Vent hose to see if it's clogged. Then report back.
