Default A couple of problems

I currently have a couple of problems with my 2GS:

1. The auto-level function on the HID's is not working.
2. When the steering wheel automatically retracts after turning off the car, there is a loud noise that sounds like rubbing. This is definitely more pronounced as the interior of the car gets hotter (ie. in cold weather no noise, hot weather alot of noise).

Anybody have any ideas as to what I can do to try and troubleshoot/solve these problems before going to my mechanic? Thanks!

With the Toyota TDT you can program the wheel to not auto-retract when you pull the key. The motor is probably wearing out, that's why it makes a nasty noise. Any shop with a TDT should be able to do this for you...

Auto-level could be a faulty level sensor.

Here is the diagram of where they are:

Thanks for your reply Bippu...I'm actually on vacation right now, but I'm going to take a look once I get home. I'll let you know. Thanks again!

take the bottom part of steering column cover and put some grease on the elements that move and this will take care of your steering wheel.
