my dads 2002 GS300 with 133k miles on it opened all of its windows and sunroof all the way today after he pressed the lock button only once. the car also didnt even lock. also after he did that none of the buttons on the key were working. he got in the car closed everything and did it again. same result, windows and sunroof opening no locking. his key battery isnt new so could that be the problem?

no. the windows and sunroof only open with the UNLOCK button when you hold it.
it doesnt close when you hold LOCK. it only sets off the horns

i know that this happened when the LOCK button was pressed once.

try putting key in drivers door in lock position and hold it to see if it resets the "cycle"

must have been the battery. got it replaced today and it works fine. this thread can be locked. thankks
