How Can I Keep My New Rotors From Rusting?
how? im not talking about the surfact you brake on, of course there wont be rust there. im talking about the sides of the rotor and the inner part where the hub connects. I want it to stay as shiny and nice as it is now! i dont really want to paint it, in fact i like it more how it is now its a really nice color, i think dexter can agree with me. So is there any rust protector i can use? how come my wheels dont rust whats on them? surley there must be something!!!!

Sasha, try some clear gloss engine paint. I painted the sides and the hubs. I have had my rotors for 4 months and they still have that "clean metal" look. No rust anywhere!

Prep is key, sand until the rust is gone and wipe down with some sort of paint thinner. Use a high-temp paint made for engines or brake calipers,VHT and Plasti-Kote are two good brands.
On the last 2002 (or 2001 I forget) GS I worked on,I noticed the non-contact areas of the rotors were prepainted black from the factory.
