Those shallow subs hit nice now compared to when they first came out ... I would probably try to make a cross brace along the top so the weight is distributed evenly and not just bolt it to where the sub primarily is located.

I hope that this is not the only way to replace to an aftermarket sub. I was thinking to just get an aftermarket 10in free air subwoofer and screw it in and thats it? Do we really have to do all this work to replace the factory sub? I don't want a box in my trunk.
