My trim strip (the one that goes from the front windshield, through the roof and to the rear windshield) is loose. There are tabs from the roof all the way to the rear windshield, but the front seems like it was glued by something. Does anyone have any clue how to make the front trim stay glued?

Nope, no glue, just clips. Here's the trick, though. When you install the molding, you need to make sure that you start at one end and work your way all the way to the other end (as opposed to starting at one end, then securing the other end, and working each end towards the middle). If I recall, I believe you need to start at the front and work your way all the way back. This is because the front part of the molding strip slides under the corner of the hood, and if you start in the back and work your way forward, you won't be able to clear the hood. You should take the entire strip off and start over.

P.S.: You'll need to apply pressure to the strip with your hand (which is fine), but don't bang on it too hard because it will dimple. Trust me on this one.

i don't see any tabs along the front windshield and no tabs tucked inside the corner of the hood. was yours like that as well? if my tabs are missing, are there ways to re-insert the tabs?

As I recall, the underside of the molding strip has a groove running its entire length and the car has a receptacle that takes the groove (or maybe it's the other way around). Anyway, as I recall, the groove/receptacle is a continuous thing that runs the entire length of the molding strip. I don't recall there being tabs.

Maybe someone else who has replaced their windshield can chime in. Hopefully I'm remembering this correctly.

EDIT: It's coming back to me a little. Okay, there should be a rail that runs beneath the entire length of the molding strip. On the car, there are several receptacles for that rail, rather than one big continous receptacle. The receptacles are spaced maybe a foot apart. I can't recall where each one is located, but I would assume there is one by the front of the car near the windshield. If you don't have one there, there would be nothing to hold the molding strip in place near your windshield. Can you check the other side to see if there's one near the windshield?

there isn't a receptacle at the front near the windshield, and i think there's one on the otherside. can anyone chime in on how to re-tap a receptacle on the rail?
