ya..i drive a 99 lexus gs300, and idk what the **** is wroing. my battery light came on in my car and everything started to fail on me until the car shut up. it didn't happen so fast but that is pretty much what happen. the battery is not gettin a charge from the alternator, i've replaced the alternator, still not gettin charge. wtf is goig on

Other than the alternator and the battery, there is also the factor of "electrical Load".

I assume your idle speed is with in spec, then you need to figure out what is causing the execess draw [other assumption I am aking is the battery is normal and the alterntor is good].

Take it to a shop or pull fuses to figure out which circuit is draining excessively. Usual culprtis are after market amps/audio and alarms.

It's possible that the battery has a "dead" cell.

I'd take the car to a friendly Sears store- they''ll do a test on the battery and the electrical system, typically at no charge. The DieHard Gold battery (3-year warranty) I bought from them 2.5 years ago recently tested "dead cell;" they replaced the battery at no charge!

Also, where did you buy the new alternator? If it was from Chief, Kragen, Pep Boys, etc., it was likely a "rebuilt" alternator, not a new one. These may be suspect; I've had these test "bad" right out of the box. I bought one for my MR2 a few years ago; I asked them to test it in the store before I left with it. Sure enough, it was not charging. Good to know BEFORE you go to the trouble of installing it...
