Default Time to join CL. Need suggestions.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking this forum for a while now but haven't joined because I just got my '02 GS300 a few days ago. It's black exterior and grey/tan interior with 51K miles on it. Sorry guys, no pics right now since I haven't had it detailed yet... I am afraid the dealer would screw up the paint job especially when it's a black.

Anyhow, the car is totally stock.. but not for long. I want to have it lowered first with the stock rims for now. Is that a good idea if I plan to put on 18" later? Any recommendation for shops I could bring to for lowering the car? I am in SoCal. Second thing is tinting all the windows. I actually really need the tinting first since there are no parking with shade at my work place. Would hate to have the heat ruin the condition of the leather. Any reputable tint shop in SoCal? I don't really mind paying a premium for a good tint job. Thanks guys!

Welcome to CL and congrats on the purchase. If you lower first, just make sure the aftermarket wheel setup is the same overall diameter as your stock wheels. This way you will maintain the same stance.

Welcome man As Kharizma said - 18's look pretty small on this car. I would suggest 19's.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I've been talking with a buddy of mine and he said the same thing, only put 19's or 20's on the car. Funding is the only reason I even thought about 18's.. guess I will wait and raise some more fund.

Anyone been to or heard of Tint Zone in Rowland Heights before? It was recommended by a friend of a friend. Rominl, any idea how much Tint Factory charges to do the whole car?

Welcome to CL. If you are going to spend the $ on 18s why not put a little more in and get 19s. I will look alot better When it comes to lowering, if you cant do them both at the same time I would do the lowering first then the wheels.

i'm getting 19s.... actually they arrive tomorrow heh

i'd do 19s or 20s... i think socal roads are lot better than NYC, so you may consider 20s. i can't think of 20s haha

first mod should be clublexus sticker!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i heard that gives you 5 hp above stock hahhaha
