Stock 2000yr stereo plays MP3s!
In the interest of sharing, I burned a few MP3s onto a CD and tried them in my stock 6CD changer/stereo (non Nakamichi) on a 2000yr GS300 Platinum edition and the disk worked just fine including FFWD, RWD and track select/skip 
Nothing in the manual or on the changer/CD states that the head unit and/or changer is MP3 capable. I'm sure a lot of you have already figured this out, but I figured it's always good to share (seeing that Lexus Technical Writers didn't!). I didn't actually expect it to work, but i'm glad that it does - more tracks in the changer for me....
