Noob Needs Help!
Hello to everyone, just joined the club because on Monday March 28th (My birthday) I will be buying myself a birthday presant. I will be gettin a Black 2000 GS 300 Platinum Edition. I already have a few ideas and questions for everyone. Fisrt of all I heard that if I change the headunit in the car I also have to change out all the factory speakers. Is this the case or will I be ok? Here is a list of my near furure mods. I want a flashy look while still keeping the car looking classy. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Exterior:
Rims- 20's or possible 22's Chrome or Black with a chrome lip, def. deep dish.
Suspension if needed. Depending on wheel size.
Limo tint all the way around
Chrome grill? Or OEM?
Interior:
Flip out touch screen(already have that)
TV's in headrest is a must possible sun visors
Clean system, dont need anything earth shaking just a good clean thump
Any help or sugestions will be greatly appreciated and used. Thanks alot and I look forward to tommorw. By the way, are there alot of CL members in the Charlotte area? I meet one member Anthony he came into the shop i work at and inspired me to get a GS. He drives an 01 GS 300 Black with 20's looked sweet I feel in love with it and now I am getting one.

Just pulling your chain there!! welcome to Club Lexus!!Though you don't necessarily have to change the stock speakers,it's a good idea to do so since the aftermarket headunit will probably be alot more powerful and might blow out the stock speakers;trust me I'm telling you from experience.
Once again welcome.

Hi Stuntman, I and several others are in Charlotte.
I'd definitely advise you to get together with some of us to check out our cars before you start modifying.

Welcome to the club, congrats on your purchase and happy birthday
1. Stick with 20s, no 22s wont look right
2. If you are going with 20s then lowering is a must, IMHO. At least a spring setup but if you want to be able to adjust the height to how you want it then get coilovers. If you want to get crazy you can do an airride or airrunner suspension and lay the car out.
Good luck with your mods. you have a few nice GS's in your area
