Default Steering

once a while when I go over a larger bump at faster speed, like 5MPH, I can feel my steering wheel is like totally loose, it even shakes a little bit. Am I making any sense here?

Have anyone experienced this before?

Thanks,

Dillon

I have the same problem. If you get the L-tuned Steering ECU, it may help this. But then again, it may not. It's suppose to stiffen the steering so it doesn't have the loose feeling. Some say yes, others say no.

The L-Tuned steering ECU mainly helps steering feel at higher speeds. Lexus issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) that tightens the steering column (specifics ... i could be wrong ...) of 98-99 GS's.

My bad, didn't konw the ECU wasn't very effective at low speeds.

that's coz' the GS always have a very loose steering. you can try to tighten up the steering wheel pretensioner. if you have the early yr 98, then it's no hope unless you change the whole thing to the new type

also the steering column bushings are very soft too
