Android: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 running Kitkat 4.4.4

Until just about a week ago, my texts were delivered flawlessly to my Nav unit (no new software updates to car or phone). Now....nothing! My wife drives a Lexus SUV and uses an iphone 6 and the same thing has been happening to her, for roughly the same period of time.

Any ideas folks??? I'm a technophile so it's not like I don't know how to configure things...haven't changed any settings to phone or car....It worked great and now [fart noise]

if it was working and has stopped then the settings were fine. delete phones from car and reload as this often solves errors. good luck

Great idea...I can't believe I didn't think of that. I just find it hard to believe that my wife and I are running into the same problem on 2 different vehicles with two totally different OS's.

I will delete/repair today and report back.

BAM!!! Deleted phone from car and car from phone....repaired and I'm back in business....I hope it lasts.

Another issue I discovered with the texts randomly not playing through the car is when I have too many stored on the phone. I don't know what the exact number is... I think its around 500, but if I don't delete old texts out of my phone the car will stop reading them. If I clear old messages the text message tends to start working again. It may not be your problem since you say it started to work again, but it may be some knowledge to keep around since it sounds like you use the feature and have an android phone as well. I'm also running Kitkat.

What I find most odd is that messages I have deleted from my phone and my webs server continue to appear in the history in my GS. Great backup if you ever lose that key text... terrible if you share the car and don't want others who use it reading your messages fyi

Judging my wife horrible experience with this ( 2014 IS ) I didn't even bother activating this.

Is text display a 14 or 15 option? I have a 13 but have yet to discover this feature. Only had it a few weeks.

Yep when my '13 stops working I nuke a huge pile of texts. I have one friend that would rather text me 30 times than call me and talk for 10 seconds, so they tend to pile up fast. Nuke them, then it works again.

I get them maybe 3/4 of the time but the canned responses never work. Do they work for anyone using IOS?

I don't know where it says it in the manual, but I swear I've seen it published. The quick reply feature isn't compatible with Iphones. I know that the technology guy at my dealer was pretty clear about it when I took delivery.

I THINK it's only on the 2015 model, but there is some sort of Siri feature that I think allows you to do more with the Iphone. I can't say for sure since I'm an Android user, but I do know that the canned replies don't work with Iphones.
