Use fishing line or dental floss to break the adhesive.

The L emblem? I think it's held by clips or screws. U have to get behind the bumper to see it.

Yea I tried there held by some washer clips. Which is not easy unless I break it off in the end.

You may have to remove the entire assembly before detaching the badge.

Unless you have enough room to work, I would second that you'd be better off removing the grille.

I swapped the grille on our LX years ago (a pebble did a number on the original) and transferring the emblem (and front camera) was a time consuming process, but definitely doable. It took a lot of patience... and this is where having some extra space comes in handy. The pins that the washers clamp on to on the emblem are plastic, and breaking them would be a pity.

Congrats on the new car, too, BTW!

I'm in the same boat...the emblem has a highway rock dent in it and I want to swap it out.

The threads that talk about removing the front L emblem talk about the clips in the back.

Apparently you just have to get new clips because it's difficult to remove the emblem without snapping the clips. Some guys reported that they pried it open gently, and then used pliers to clamp it back down. Not perfect, but good enough. I personally haven't done it yet, but that's what I gathered from what I read.

It's like 50 cents on sewell...maybe if you call the local parts department they might have them for cheap enough? Good luck.

Yes, prying gently (in fact, bending the individual "teeth" on the washer clamps) is what I did. Going in, had I known how the emblem was held, I would have most definitely bought new washers and cut the originals off. Problem was, I didn't know until I had the grille off, on a Sunday afternoon to boot.

Thanks for the assistance, I went to the dealer to see if they could shed some light and they couldn't figure it out either. In other words I'm leaving it on.
