20 inch wheels from 18 inch wheels
Hello, new to the forum and tried to find an answer before I posted.. I'm interested in changing my wife's 18 inch wheels on her luxury edition Gs 350 to 20 inch wheels. Can you all chime in as to what comfort level from the 18 ' s to the 20's I would loose. I know there will be a comfort lost , but is it major.. anyone has made this move on there GS?

Comfort wise you will definitely notice. It can still be ok to daily drive but the smaller and stiffer sidewalls will definitely be harsher on abrupt bumps/cracks. Having said that many people drive daily on 20s with no issues.

You will definitely notice the harsher ride. How much it bothers you and your wife will depend on the quality of the roads in your area and your own personal preferences.
I love the look of my 20s but there are certain roads in my neighborhood that I avoid completely because the ride is brutal.

A lot depends on the type of tire you choose. High performance tires will have a stiff sidewall but will handle better and have a quicker steering response. Some tires will have a soft sidewall but won't handle as well.
I have installed larger wheels on a previous car and it actually road smoother than the smaller wheels.
