Default Question for all of you who have aftermarket wheels

Hello All,

I will be getting my new wheels today. Does anyone have issues with brake dust staining their aftermarket wheels? I've heard many stories of the stock f sport wheels staining bad.

Thanks!

Nope I have not had it occur with my wheels. My F-Sport wheels are stained like others have complained also.

I have not had any issues with brake dust, but I also have Chrome 5 spoke rims which are pretty easy to wipe down.

Thanks for the responses, so i guess the problem is with our wheels. I was worried it was the actual brake dust.

Thanks

No, the excessive brake dust has always been a problem with the stock pads. It doesn't matter what wheels you have ... they will get brake dust on them. It's just a nuisance to have to clean them, so one might want to take that into account when selecting their wheel design.

My original F Sport wheels are clean for a day after washing. And the brake dust will show the next day. But since I got ceramics, it will be at least two weeks before I notice any brake dust. I love these ceramics. Now the car looks way dirtier than the wheels lol

It is not wheel specific but rather pad specific. Once my pads are toast I am going to replace with Akebono. I probably should have done it long ago.

Get a car duster and dust them daily to keep them clean. Takes two minutes.

I see many members in the CL with 4GS dropped on RS*R superdown / 20inch rims. Do you guys take your car to a car wash while dropped / on 20s? Because I know many cars dropped cannot clear the machine car wash so it MUST be hand washed or bye bye bumper..

Hand car wash always. Even if I had stock wheels.

Nope I can't because I'm staggered so the dealership will tear up the rims. So no car wash only home wash not even touch less.

apply OC2.0 to your wheels before they go on the car.

What does being staggered have to do with it? Aren't all RWD GS's staggered?
