Lexus vs. BMW Handling!

Haaa.... I never get involved in car arguments, or oil debates or politics or religion and so on. What I can say is I would never take a 4000 pound car and push it to its limits on a canyon road. Perhaps an M3 or IS-F but not a 535 or GS 350. IMHO, most who purchase these car don't either.

The current 5 series is a pig, eventually BMW will ditch the extra weight and get back to its roots, kind of like what they did with dumping the Bangle era. I hope they get off the turbo trend and go back to straight naturally aspirated motos, but I don't see it happening. If Lexus built a GS-F, they could probably pick up some Benz buyers. I know quite a few of AMG guys that are royally passed that Benz no longer uses the 6.3 and that its a bi-turbo now.
There is lots of room in the mid size segment for further competition. It's amazing how regional things are to, where I live you see quite a few BMW, Benz and Lexus and hardly ever see any Audi's. The Audi dealers here never seem to have any stock, everything is a special order that takes forever to get, and they generally seem unwilling to work with potential customers.

Lexus Fanatic
look who is being arrogant here. so your PAST experience with bmw becomes a description of the brand NOW?
funny, my purchase of the m3 as well as services were all superb, people were great, polite, friendly, loaner cars every single time, courteous, and reasonable. it must be a california not a texas thing then.
btw, my experience with mb and lexus have all been equally great too.

This is the thing about dealers, they are all independently owned. The brand certainly imposes guidelines, but service quality varies. I've never owned an MB or BMW, but I've shopped for them multiple times over the years and I've had good and bad experiences.
I've also had good and bad experiences at Lexus dealers too...

I agree a little bit as I have never had a problem at my BMW dealership, but I know couple of my friends who have gone on my recommendation and had a terrible experience because they did not deal with my service advisor. I think it does happen but it depends on who you deal with, same with sales, there are some arrogant ones that I have dealt with.
