Informal Poll--Buying a new cell phone
I am looking at replacing my current phone and want to get a replacement that will take full advantage of my 4GS' capabilities. I currently have an EVO 4G which works fine with all of the Enform apps and no problems with bluetooth connections. But it does not have a MAP profile and so I don't get messaging such as texts through on the screen or being read out loud.
Can other 4GS owners who have success with their phones list what make/model of phone you have and how it is working with your 4GS?
Specifically:
Thanks in advance.
Can other 4GS owners who have success with their phones list what make/model of phone you have and how it is working with your 4GS?
Specifically:
- any problems connecting with bluetooth?
- Are all the Enform apps working adequately?
- Any problems with the phone/phonebook transfer?
- Can you view and/or hear your text or email messages?
Thanks in advance.

having no problems what so ever with my iphone 4S. however it does not read the e-mails, apple will be updating in a month or two so that we will have that feature with the iphone 4S. i can wait,,, i've gone this long without it what's another month or two. developers with the iphone have this feature. i tried but gave up.

Someone I work with has the HTC EVO 4G LTE and it works great. Supports all features including MAP. He replaced an iPhone 4 with it and says it's exponentially better performance wise.

Wait for IOS 6.0 upgrade on the iPhone to see the automatic reading of mail. There are some people running the beta version of IOS that have this feature already in their 2013 GS.

I've got the Samsung Galaxy SIII and have had very nice seamless connection with my car. I haven't tried Enform since getting the phone as I really don't like it and find it doesn't do anything the Bluetooth connection can't do...

If I needed a phone today, since I have Verizon service, I would opt for the Samsung Galaxy IIIS as this has all of the features supported now. Since, I am an iPhone user and have a 4, I am waiting for OS6 to see. Since it will be two years of service with my phone in October, then I have the opportunity to see what the new iPhone will be like

I have the HTC Incredible on Verizon with no MAP functionality. I was planning to wait until my renewal in November and consider an iPhone5, but the power button on the HTC is failing more and more often. The only ways to wake the phone up when the button fails (aside from receiving a call) are to plug it in, toggle the phone with a BT headset, or remove/install the battery. Supposedly, I could root the phone and assign another button to toggle the power, but I don't really want to go that route. Verizon allowed me to to renew early and apply the full renewal discount to an iPhone 4S.

+1 on the Galaxy SIII. I never thought I could part with my iPhone, but the SIII is a much better smart phone in so many ways.
