I plan on buying a trans for my gs but not if it will work. I have a part number 35000-3f250 I have a a340e trans 2j motor. Can anybody shed some light on the issue

what year is your gs?

that part number is for the 95-97 GS300, which is a 5 speed auto transmission. (see the title in the link below)

the 93-94 gs300 is a 4 speed auto transmission.

In my opinion, I would guess it would work. you may have to swap a sensor/controller from one tranny to another, but keep in mind I have never done this. So this is only my opinion.

I am almost certain someone posted on this message board a long time ago a semi-tutorial on how they went from a 4 speed to the 5 speed automatic. You will have to use the search option.
