I think I need to buy new tires

What is the date code on those tires?
Tire manufacturers' warranties typically cover cracking for a period of 4 years from the date the tire was purchased (receipt for the new tires or in-service date of the vehicle required) or four years from the date the tire was manufactured.

Tires are recommended to be replaced every six years regardless of tread depth or mileage, so you aren't too far away needing new tires anyway. Maybe your tires were subjected to an abnormal amount of cold weather stress along with normal driving damage.
