Default Someone side swiped my car

I was driving in the middle lane and a 4runner moved into my lane. I think I may need a paint job to fix the damages. Also felt a small dent. Any recommendation on a good body shop in sacramento or nor cal area that can make this look new again and match the paint color. 2015 ultra white.

Did you get a tag number or swap insurance? Hit and runs are way easier on the deductible.

Check the paint with your finger nail if it's scratched otherwise looks like a compound/polish should take care of it.

We did exchange insurance, but the guy said I moved into his lane. So now the insurance will have to determine who is at fault. He's not returning the insurances phone call. The circle right by the edge of the door it's a paint chip.

I have had this when the other person wasn't replying the calls and I had to fix the car at my own. Soo many ___holes driving around in Texas.

you have his insurance info right? Just give it to your insurance and they will take care of the rest; assuming you have full coverage. You just have to pay for the deductible which you might get back if his insurance company determines it was at his fault. Even if it was your fault you don't have to pay anything up front, your premium might rise a bit, if it is too much shop for a different insurance company.

In another word you paid for the insurance company so let they take care of you. Accident happens just take it easy and move on.

Haven't had the time yet to take it to a detailer or body shop to get an estimate. I might end up just paying for the damages myself if it's less than my deductible and yes I have full coverage. I had my car opti-coated so that will have to be redone if I choose to. I'm just afraid of rates going up and reporting the accident to dmv if I do it through insurance. This happened at night and the driver was more in the back of me so I couldn't see if he was distracted.

If he was in the back of you, how in the world did he not see you? Sounds like you weren't in his blind spot. Insurance may agree that it is his fault...

Don't pay it yourself! A friend of mine was rear-ended and had to wait about a month before receiving his estimate check to get it fixed from the other insurance company. I would continuously update and ask your insurance company and even call their insurance company to make sure you are adamant about getting this resolved.

If this doesn't pan out, I would start with a heavy compound from 3M or Meiguiars and a polish after to get most of the black rubbing off.
