And since we're at it....

Lease rates are the same through month end.

Tier 1+ .00070 (740+), Tier 1 .00080 (700+)

2013 residuals assume 36,000 on odometer. adjust up/down 20c/mile for every mile over or under at inception:

GS350 RWD $20,925 24 Months $18,750 36 Months
GS350 AWD $21,925 24 Months $19,600 36 Months
GS450h $25,050 24 Months $22,250 36 Months

2014 residuals assume 24,000 miles:

GS350 RWD $24,075 24 Months $21,550 36 Months
GS350 AWD $25,200 24 Months $22,550 36 Months
GS450h $28,800 24 Months $25,600 36 Months

There are equipment adds... figure in the $700 range on a 14 and the $400 range on a 13 so not earth shattering.

This is why you want a really low mile 13... In particular 450hs lease REALLY well.

Hello there,

Thank you very much for the info. I have never done a lease before and am interested in leasing a CPO. But I have no idea what those numbers mean. Are the prices how much I will be paying for total of 24 months or 36 months? on a CPO?

Thanks again.

These prices being quoted are perplexing. I spent the good part of a month looking for a 2013 GS350 F-Sport in the Milwaukee/Chicago area never was there one for sale at the $30K mark. I ended up buying one with 19,000 miles in Milwaukee for $36K. I did see other ones with 40,000ish miles but those were still around $33K to $36K. I suppose you could negotiate that but I found most of the dealers in that area mentioned to not vary from the "sales" price I was seeing. Now mine has a Mfg date of June of 2013 so next month will hit 3 years old. I did almost go for a 2014 model in Chicago with over 40,000 miles but the lowest they would go was $39.7, i chose a year older with half the miles.

Well... to calculate a lease... And, again, there's more to it than this but it should get you an idea.

Say you have a 2013 RWD with 30K miles. 36000 (allowed miles) - 30,000 (actual miles) = 6,000 x 20c = $1,200

$18,750 + $1,200 = $19,950 residual.

Say the car is $31,900

Monthly depreciation: $31,900 - $19,950 = $11,950 depreciation / 36 month term = 331.95 monthly depreciation.

Monthly Rent charge or Interest = Cap cost (31,900) + Residual (19,950) x Money Factor (.00070) this equates to $36.30/mo

Monthly depreciation + Monthly Rent ($331.95 + 36.30) = Monthly payment or $368.25 in this case.

On a lease you use the adjusted cap cost. This would assume taxes, Bank fee ($700) any dealer or doc fees and DMV costs are up front. If you were rolling taxes and fees in then you'd add them to the $31,900 selling price for the purposes of calculating a payment.

Hope this helps!

Bill

You won't find a nice, low mileage F-Sport for $30K in all probability, certainly not a CPO'd one. I sell 6-9 F-Sport GSs a month and the cheapest I've sold a CPO 2013 for was right around $33K or so.

The 2014 with 40K was overpriced and you were wise to pass on it; right now we seem to be writing a deal on a 22K mile one that I have had for 30 days at $37,995.. Normally I transact low mile (20-23K) 14 F-Sports in and around the low $39s.

There's a huge difference in a CPO car, cost wise, and what one may find at a dealer that sells cars solely on price.

Example: I just wholesaled a 2013 28K mile F-Sport. It's Black with a Cabernet interior and it has Mark Levinson. It looks great, it was also in a serious frontal accident and has structural damage history. I got $26,500 wholesale for it and it's for sale out there somewhere for probably $29,995. It broke my heart.. I mean I REALLY need Black/Red F-Sports.

Meanwhile that car in nice shape brings $30,000 wholesale and sucks up $2,200 in the shop on average and costs $1,400 to CPO and I'll list it for $35,995 online.

Get to miles in the 40s.. non-F-Sport... those cars can be bought for $22-23K wholesale with stories.
