Default 14 GS 350 trunk weatherstripping cracking

I recently got my '14 GS 350 and despite giving it a pretty good look-over before buying, tonight I noticed the weatherstripping at the top of the trunk is cracking. There are 2 spots where it's cracking and coming apart.

I presume this is under warranty and will check in with the dealer when I get a chance.

I've read the threads on water in the trunk and am hoping with all the rain forecast in my area that it doesn't leak.

Has anybody else had issues with this on such a new car? My guess is the power trunk is closing in a bit too tight and over-stressing the seal.

I've had a few damaged interior and trunk panels that were fixed free under warranty.

Any tips on how to extend their life? It seems to me 2 years for weatherstripping is rather short, once the warranty does run out it doesn't seem something I want to fuss with. I'd rather have a way to keep them tip-top.

Silicone Di-Electric grease is available at any auto parts store. This is what I've used for years on my cars to extend the life of w-strip. It is recommended in most owners manuals.

I recently started putting Aerospace303 on my seals, dash, any interior/exterior plastic/rubber trim, headlights/taillight (the plastic cover part).

This is made for seals. Used it on my BMWs for years:

Thanks all for the suggestions! I picked up a bottle of 303 Aerospace on the way home today. It looks like everyone is out of stock on the gummy stick, that sounds more like what I would want.

Though lack of lubricant really doesn't seem to be my root-cause. This is a 2-yr old car, I have a 15-yr old Honda that has spent 10 of them parked out in the Texas sun and all the weatherstripping is still in good shape with no maintenance at all.
