Elimination of Fog Lights for GS 2016
I just received my 2016 GS Lexus with everything for this auto. I had fog lights for my 2013 GS, 2007 GS and my older LS 400. My new car arrived with no Fog Lights. No one knew the reason. These fog lights are standard with the Non-Sport GS. I contacted the North American Lexus Base and they say my 2016, even with the three LED Headlights, Should have the fog lights. There are no fog lights for GS-F-Sport. I contacted my dealership in New Jersey and after some research, they notified me today that Lexus decided NOT to have Fog Lights in North America for any version of the 2016 GS. WOW. Are we going backwards??? They say the LED lights are bright enough not to need fog lights. What do you make of all this???Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

All 2016 GSs will not have fog lights so a base model does not do it. I am leasing now so I do not think I will invest money on fog lights. I wish Lexus would not take two steps forward in innovations and then takes one step backwards as they did with folding side mirrors, etc.

I have fog lights on my work truck (2015 Ram 1500) and I turned them off as they actually made driving in the fog worse as they made it more difficult to see the road. I also noticed this with add on fog lights I put on cars in the 70's and 80's, I always thought it was due to them being aftermarket but after having OEM fog lights and experiencing the same thing I've decided that these lights are more for show than any actual improvement in vision.
Based on this experience I've chosen not to install them on my GS350 F Sport.

You can order foglights from the Japanese version from Nigel. I may be doing it soon too but may go custom DRL

fog lights are not needed on cars with LED headlights.
the LED lights provide ample lighting in the direct front of the car where "fog" lights would normally light the road.
FWIW most manufacturers have gone away from fog lights since the inception of LED lighting, aside from Federal and State regulations that make it illegal to have more than 4 forward facing white lights (headlights and Lexus hockey stick DRL fulfill this regulation) fog lights in general are as I stated useless with LED headlights, even with properly focused HIDs, lower valance mounted lights do not offer any additional lighting benefit to the driver and really only serve to blind oncoming traffic.

I did get it from Nigel the whole kit as you see on the GS200T, its not available in the US dealers, but do not get it now I am telling you, once you put the fogs on and everything fits good, ur bumper wont fit, so thats the issue I have now.

I had the fog lights on my IS, but the LED headlights were so good I never used the fogs. I tried them out and felt like they didn't add anything meaningful so I just left them off all the time.
I do not have the fogs on my GS and even without LEDs, I can't say it's been a problem.

2016 doesn't have them?
